LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD) will make available a panel discussion with LAFD members of the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team and FEMA California Task Force 1. The LAFD members were deployed 20 years ago, to the World Trade Center site, formerly referred to as “Ground Zero” or "The Pile" in New York City, after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The event will be held at the Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center (FHMTC), lower/main parking lot starting at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, 9/8/2021. Two members will be available to answer questions, town-hall style, for one-hour press. Members of the press are invited to step up to a stand-up microphone and ask our members to narrate their perspective during their individual 9/11 experience. We can not guarantee everyone will get one-on-one time with the panelists. All who plan to attend, are respectfully asked to please observe all COVID-19 health and distancing precautions.
