KTTV Anchor Christine Devine, KNBC Anchor Chuck Henry, and KCBS/KCAL Reporter Dave Lopez to be Honored by Southern California Broadcasters
 
(Universal City, Calif.) –KCBS/KCAL Reporter Dave Lopez, KTTV Anchor Christine Devine, and KNBC Anchor Chuck Henry will be honored with Lifetime Achievement awards at the 68th Annual Golden Mike Awards® presented by the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California.
 
Christine Devine has not only been a trusted face in Southern California television news for more than 25 years, she’s literally helped change the lives of hundreds of kids in the foster care system.  Her regular Wednesday’s Child segment on the Fox-11 newscast has led to more than 700 adoptions over the years. Devine has also reported and anchored coverage of many of the region’s major news stories over recent years, from earthquakes and brush fires to crime and celebrity deaths and scandals.
 
Chuck Henry is one of the most recognizable and popular faces in Southern California television.  Henry has been an award-winning anchor and reporter at KNBC in Los Angeles for more than 20 years.  He has won dozens of awards and honors for his work.  Before joining KNBC, Henry was at KABC in Los Angeles for nearly two decades.  He also anchored and produced the popular television magazine shows “Eye On LA” and “Travel Café.”
 
           Dave Lopez has been an award winning reporter at KCBS/KCAL in Los Angeles for four decades and a broadcast journalist for nearly a half century. He has covered some of the region’s biggest stories over the years, ranging from the OJ Simpson trial to the Northridge earthquake.  He’s been honored numerous times with Golden Mikes, Emmys, AP, and Los Angeles Press Club awards for his work.
 
                The RTNA is proud to present its 2018 Freedom of Information Award to Dr. Bill Patzert, with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.  Patzert is an oceanographer who’s one of the world’s leading experts on El Nino and La Nina, and has been a key part of Southland rain and drought coverage for decades.
 
The Golden Mike Awards are presented each year by the RTNA, a nonprofit organization representing broadcast news professionals throughout Southern California.  RTNA coordinates TV pool coverage of major news events in the region, fights for freedom of information causes, and provides scholarships for the next generation of broadcast journalists. 
 
The 2018 show is Saturday, January 27th at the Universal Hilton hotel in Universal City.
