Investigators Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Second Suspect Responsible for City of Commerce Triple-Fatal Traffic Collision; $36,000 Reward Offered

Who: Sheriff Jim McDonnell, Assistant Sheriff Todd Rogers, Commander Rod Kusch, Captain Steve Katz, and Homicide Bureau detectives, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department; Chief Bill Siegl, Chief Daniel Minor, Captain Paul Medeiros, and investigators, California Highway Patrol; Area Security Manager Rick Flamenco, United Parcel Service; President Jay Phillips and Secretary Treasurer Ron Herrera, Teamsters Local 396; family and friends of the victims.

What: Investigators will discuss the circumstances surrounding a triple-fatal, multiple-vehicle traffic collision which occurred as a result of an illegal street race on February 27, 2016, on Interstate Highway 5, in the City of Commerce.

Investigators will request the public’s assistance in identifying the second suspect(s) involved and their vehicle.

The collective amount of $35,000 of reward money offered by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Teamsters Local 396, the United Parcel Service, and Six Flags Entertainment Corporation will be presented, in exchange for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the second suspect(s) responsible for the murders of the three victims.

A $1,000 reward will be presented by Crime Stoppers for the apprehension of the second suspect(s) responsible for the murders of the three victims.
